Cannot Run Program Shortcut

i had some problems with backup running. i ran the scheduler update. i also kept getting access denied messages trying to edit jobs. i uninstalled and reinstalled the product. then i ran update. now each time i try to run the product from the shortcut i get a message "the older version of the Acronis product component has been detected. The computer must be rebooted for correct operation of Acronis True Image Home. Do you want to reboot the computer now?" i have tried the yes option. The computer reboots and then I get the same message. When I select no option nothing happens. Can anyone suggest a fix.

also i am a little surprised that Acronis does not provide support for installation issues. i am an engineer and based my purchase on their quality and now i am a little put off by the product. i even thought of offering it as a solution to my clients and now i am not too sure.

The update is a standalone file which can be downloaded from your registration page. This download can be installed without any prior installation; or the download can be installed overtop the existing application. If you have a updated installation now, you can run the downloaded installation again and it will offer to repair the existing app.

I would suggest you create a new task with a new shortcut. What you are getting right now is not the normal procedure for when creating a backup.
