Cannot view folder in mounted drive

Thread needs solution

I mounted a backup made on my old computer (HP) on my new computer (Dell). This shows as HP_Pavilion (G:) in Dell. In this, there is a folder "Documents and Settings" and within it a folder "HP_Administrator".

When I double click on the HP_Administrator folder, I get a message box saying "You don't currently have permission to access this folder. Click Continue to permanently get access to this folder." When I click Continue, I get the message "You have been denied permission to access this folder. To gain access to this folder you will need to use the security tab." When I click the security tab link, a "Permissions for HP_Administrator" dialog box opens." In this 3 user names are listed: SYSTEM, Account Unknown and Administrators (Mo-PC\Administrators). Task Manager shows that the only user is Mo. The Add... and Remove buttons are disabled. The permissions for administrators boxes are disabled but the check boxes show that Administrators (Mo-PC\Administrators) is allowed access to everything (Full control, Modify, Read, etc.)

However, after I close the dialog boxes by clicking the OK buttons, I continue to be unable to open the folder, which contains the files that I need, though I am able to open all the other folders. How can I open the HP_Administrator folder (which is in the Documents and Settings folder)?

The answer to this is:
1. Right click on the backup in Acronis.
2. Select Explore and recover.
3. Select Files and Folders tab.
4. Double click on the drive, e.g. C:
5. Expand the folders where the folders/files that you require are located, (For some unknown reason, this allowed me to access the folder that I could not access from the mounted backup.)
6. Select the folders/files that you require by checking the boxes against them,
7. Click the Recover button.
8. Choose where you want the folder/file to be saved.
