Can't boot from a restored System W8.1
Hello,
My W8.1 system was saved on an Acronis bootable flash drive.
Now, I need to restore this original system.
I booted (UEFI) from the USB key and restored the .tib files on a new HDD.
After that, I tried to boot from the HDD :
• A black screen appeared :
oWindows boot manager
oWindows failed to start, ……
1. Insert your Windows Installation Disc and restart your computer
2. ….
3. Click “repair your computer”
•File : \BOOT\BCD
•Status : 0xc000000f
•Info : The Boot Configuration Data for our PC s missing or contains errors
I didn’t notice any installation disc when I downloaded W8.1 .
I tried to use ASRM from my bootable USB key, but I couldn’t activate it :
• Impossible activer Acronis Startup Recovery Manager (0x7E)
• Target Location not defined (0xF001)
Thank you in advance for your useful tips;
Mouspi

Hello Pierre,
can you please clarify which exactly Acronis product you use? Are you restoring your system to that same hardware or to a dissimilar one?
Also please describe your steps while creating a backup and creating a recovery task.
Thank you.

Hello Anna,
My backup vas done initially with ATIH 2014.
I was trying to restore on a new disc.
Finally I managed to boot, with "Easy Recovery Essentials" from NeoSmart.
Now, I use Acronis 2015.
I activated ASRM in order to use F11 easily if another booting problem appears.
I want also to create a new Flash drive Booting Media, but it doesn't seem very easy to proceed.
Could you tell me where I can find a tuto explaining easily this process.
May the New Year bring you health, happiness and peace;
Mouspi
