Can't create rescue disk

Thread needs solution

Tried to create a TI Home Rescue Disk, program ran but never burned to disk. I was able to create an ISO image.
Any other options to make a bootable rescue disk?

Did TI Media Builder start and then stop or not start at all?

Do you have anything like InCD running in the background?

Hello TJB,

Thank you for using [[http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/ | Acronis Products]]

There are several workarounds in case you cannot create Acronis True Image Bootable CD/DVD:

1. Please make sure that you are using a blank unformatted CD/DVD-R or CD/DVD-RW disc, as other types of media cannot be used to create a bootable rescue CD/DVD.

2. Boot into Safe mode (press F8 when Windows starts up and choose Safe mode to boot into) and then create Acronis True Image Bootable CD/DVD.

3. Update any third-party CD/DVD-writing software installed on the computer to the latest version available for free on its respective web-site.

4. Uninstall any CD/DVD burning software temporarily and then create Acronis True Image Bootable CD/DVD.

5. If you use Windows XP please uncheck the "Enable CD/DVD recording on this drive" box in the "Recording" tab (to get to this tab please right click on the CD/DVD-drive in "My computer" and choose "Properties").

6. One more workaround:

- Eject any disc from the burner prior to starting the program;
- Proceed until the program asks for a disc;
- Insert a disc and then click the OK button to close the tray automatically.

7. You can download ISO image from your account under Registered Products and create Acronis bootable disc using third-party software.

You can find more information on how to burn an ISO image to a CD at:

Couldn't find an appropriate post for this question after searching online for couple of hours.  I have Acronis True Image 2009 latest build that I downloaded from the websitea few weeks back.  When I go to create the bootable rescue media I only have an option to make a TI 2009 Full Version CD and no option for the Safe Version.  I have created the Full Version CD and tested it but need a safe version to run properly on my PC.  In other words, I had bought TI Home vs 11 in the store several years back and could boot off that CD and run the Safe version without problems.  How to I get the safe version option to show up in the Media builder?

If you've registered your product, log into your account and you'll find an option to download the combined BartPE and Safe Media. Install these and the next time you run Media Builder the safe option will be available.

If you haven't registered the software then you'll need to to gain access to future builds (if any) and things like ISO's etc.

BartPE is not part of the Safe environment but is a Windows based PE environment.

Hello William,

Thank you for using Acronis Products

If the issue persists and you still can’t download Safe Media please send me the serial number for Acronis True Image Home 2009 via PM (private message) and I will provide you the download link.

Dear Acronis Support,

When I log into my account, there is no option to download bootable media/iso file. There are tabs to install free plugins though.

I have True Image Home 11

Hello Lee,

Thank you for using Acronis Products

I have sent you download link for Safe Media version via PM, please install it and let us know the results.

I installed the isorecorder and downloaded the iso ver 3.1 (i think) the new windows7/vista version, and the download completed and the process seemed to write to my dvd. However, when I explore the dvd, nothing but the ACRONIS label shows in explorer. how do i confirm iso build? thanks

Hello Lee,

Let me address the query regarding the ISO file you burned.

Ass you may know, our Standalone Versions are based on Linux, so when you trying to browse the CD from Windows, it won't display any files.

You may check the correctness of the ISO you burned by booting your PC from it.

Additionally to this, you are welcome to ask me any other questions concerning Acronis, and I will assist you further.

Thank you.
