Can't Delete Nonstop Backups

Thread needs solution

This is an easy scenario to follow:

I had a nonstop backup that stopped working. I could browse and restore, but the backup would not run. (I believe the error was something along the lines of not being able to open the settings file.) Anyway, I deleted that backup by clicking on the "gear" icon in the "Backup and recovery" list and selecting delete. The backup job was removed from the list and all the files deleted from my backup drive. I then created another nonstop backup.

This happened twice and twice I deleted the old nonstop backup and created a new one from scratch.

Here's the problem. Now there are THREE nonstop backups. The two non-functioning ones that I deleted are still there. And, go figure this, they both work now. So I have THREE SIMULTANEOUS nonstop backups running on the same folders and backing up to the same destination. I have repeatedly clicked the gear and selected Delete for the unwanted backups and they disappear from the list and the backup files are deleted. When I check again a day or so later, the two deleted backups are back on the list and running and the backup drive is full.

What do I want? Just one. I don't even care which one. How can I delete the nonstop backup from my backup list FOREVER?

What shall I do?

Allen,

Unhide the hidden files in Microsoft Windows Explorer, and go to the NSB destination. Do you see several "time Explorer storage" folders there? If yes, delete the task in ATI, and then delete any remaining storage folders. Does this solve your problem? If not, uninstall, delete the folders, reboot, reinstall.

As you can see NSB is not very flexible/transparent. Make sure you have a redundant "classic" backup that never gets too old for you to go back to in case NSB doesn't meet your expectations.

I would right click on my computer, select manage. When the manage screen pops up go to the "services" option and stop the NSB service. Then as Pat says change windows explorer to show hidden files, go to the NSB destination disk and remove the "time explorer storage" folder(s). Then restart the NSB service. This usually works for me. If not then you may need to do the extra steps that Pat mentions.

I have Acronis 2014. The had drive that I was backing up to died. I got a new drive and did a full file backup and a full disk backup. The File backup finished but the Full Disk backup never finished (12 hours), and yet it appeared to have completed the backup - just never ended. So I started looking a the logs and it appeared to have logged that it finished but the icons were still indicating it was still in process after 12 hours. Looking further, I saw that the nonstop backup was starting (and stopping). The original drive that I was using for the nonstop backup is no more. So I tried to click on the nonstop backup gear to delete it. When I do that, Acronis appears to hang (it won't respond to any click on any icon) and the nonstop backup still doesn't go away. I don't know what to do. Can you help?
