Can't image D:

Thread needs solution

I've got True Image running on an XP machine. Every month I create a new image of C: and D: and put it onto E:. But I've suddenly got a problem. When I fire up TI, it goes to the analyzing stage and runs through C: fine, but then it spends ages on D:. Sometimes it will get past D: after, say, 30 minutes and sometimes it never gets past that stage. On the occasions when it has got past D:, I can create an image of C: quite OK. But if I try to image D:, it will simply hang. I've tried scanning D: drive and, so far as I can see, it's all right. Nothing significant has changed on the PC and everything else is running OK. Any ideas will be very welcome.

Hello John,

I will do my best to solve the issue you experience but first can you please clarify the exact title of the program and the build number? Please make sure that you are using the latest build of the program. Check it in Help -> About. You can always download the latest build of the program from your account under Registered Products.

You have mentioned about scanning the drive D, but have you tried to use chkdsk utility?

- Go to the Command Prompt (Start -> Run -> cmd)

- Enter the command: "chkdsk DISK: /r" (where DISK is the partition letter you need to check) for every partition that is visible in My Computer. Please note, that checking the C: drive may require you to reboot the machine.

Let us know the results. If the issue persists please attach the following diagnostic information to your next reply. Please download Acronis Report utility available at http://download.acronis.com/support/AcronisReport.exe and run it to create a report. Please compress the Acronis Report output file into an archive (e.g. with WinZip) and attach to your message by browsing for the archive. This would provide us with detailed information on the hard disk partition structure.
