Can't install License server on a Windows Xp Professional

Thread needs solution

At a customer his pc, i am trying to install Acronis True Image Echo Workstation with License Server.

I have downloaded this version:
Build: #8319 (Release Notes) Size: 348.94 MB
Date: July 6, 2009

I had a working version installed and as far as i know the same version, but i didn't want to use the management console. So i have uninstalled the entire product and used the clean up tool from acronis.

When i want to reinstall the license server i get this error message wich i have attached as file attachment to this message.

Anyone a clue what i am forgetting to do or what's wrong?

Hello Remco,

I will do everything possible in order to resolve the issue you experience.

In order to be completely sure that all traces of the software have been completely removed please use the following step-by-step guide for manual uninstall of Acronis True Image Echo Workstation.

Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista

  • Remove Acronis Secure Zone (see Removing Acronis Secure Zone)
  • Remove Windows Installer configuration (see Windows Installer CleanUp Utility)
  • Remove Acronis True Image Backup Archive Explorer (see Removing Acronis Backup Archive Explorer)
  • Remove Acronis SnapAPI drivers (see Removing Acronis SnapAPI Drivers)
  • Unregister Acronis Scheduler service (see Unregistering Acronis Scheduler Service)
  • Open Windows Task Manager and stop the TrueImageMonitor.exe process
  • Run regedit and delete the following registry keys:
    • Windows 32 bit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Acronis (Windows 64 bit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Acronis)
    • Windows 32 bit: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Acronis (Windows 64 bit: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wow6432Node\Acronis)
    • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.tib
    • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.tis
    • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\tibfile
    • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\tisfile
  • Delete TrueImageMonitor.exe value from:
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
  • Delete the \Program Files\Acronis folder
  • Delete the \Program Files\Common Files\Acronis folder
  • Delete the \Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Acronis folder (or \ProgramData\Acronis in Windows Vista)
  • Delete the \WINDOWS\system32\autoprnt.exe if it exists
  • Delete shortcuts from Desktop and Start menu
  • Reboot the computer

After that try to install License Server once again.

If the issue persists I would recommend you to check the disks for errors:

- Go to the Command Prompt (Start -> Run -> cmd)

- Enter the command: "chkdsk DISK: /r" (where DISK is the partition letter you need to check) for every partition that is visible in My Computer. Please note, that checking the C: drive may require you to reboot the machine.

Let us know the results.

Thank you.
