Can't run AIT after moving to Win 10 and attempting to reinstall AIT

Thread needs solution

I can't run AIT after moving to Win 10 and attempting to reinstall AIT

While using AIT 2015 (build 6613) I  upgraded to Win 10.  I then tried to mount previous backups.  Got a message "Cannot initialize Archive Explorer Please reinstall TI"
I therefore uninstalled ATI.  When I reinstalled and got to the "Activate Acronis True Image 2015" stage I entered my original serial number and got a message "You have specified an upgrade serial number - please enter the serial number of your original product".
Entering my original number in a box that appears for the number of the "previous product" gets a rejection.

But the number I entered was the one I was originally been given.  How do I get AIT working again?

Would be grateful for help on this

David use the Cleanup Tool (ATIH 2010-2016) https://kb.acronis.com/content/48668.

Then reinstall ATI.

Thank you for your comment.  I've used the cleanup tool as described in the link.

Unfortunately I get the same result.  It says I have specified an upgrade serial number.  What else can I do here?

David

I've now found out from the Acronis home page that I'm eligible for a free upgrade from ATI 2015 to 2016.  So I've gone ahead and tried the upgrade.  Doing this I get an upgrade serial number.  Putting this into the activation page for ATI 2016 followed by my previous serial number allowed me to go ahead with the activation.

I'm hoping that I now have a working copy of ATI 2016 running on Win 10.

I'll go ahead and try it out.
