Chain Differential Backup - disk full

Thread needs solution

I wonder whether you can assist. I am trying to automate my backup so I always have two full backups on my backup disk, leap frogging one another.
I attach a screen shot of the way I have set it up.

I wanted to run a full backup followed by daily differential backups After 7 daily differential backups I want it to repeat until I also have 7 backups At that point I wanted to have the first full backup and differential backups deleted and for the process to repeat.

I thought I had set this up correctly but I get a message that the disk is full.

Have I misinterpreted the instructions?
I note that you can set it up to have backups over a 6 monthly period but I am sure that my backup disk would fill up within this 6 month period

FYI my computer disk is 500GB, 300Gb used and the backup disk is 1Tb, which should be sufficient for the procedure described above.

Do you get the "disk full" message after several backups or right away when you start backing up?

The way you set up your backup, you will get only one full backup at any point of time:
- one full on day 1,
- 7 differentials until day 8,
- one full on day 9, delete the previous chain: you are left with one full.

If you want 2 fulls and their differentials, select "store no more than 2 backup chains" YOu will need space for 3 full chains because ATI will complete the 3rd chain before deleting the 1st one.

Also make sure that you have the Backup Scheme tab (the one you made a screen capture of) active when you close the backup options window, or your cleanup settings will not stick.
