Changing permissions to gain access to mounted image concern

Thread needs solution

Hello, I have a question concerning an old fullbackup tib/image mounted with new Acronis 2013.

The old image was created on an XP machine using True Image Home 11. I now have a Windows 7 computer and Acronis 2013 and have mounted the image of the XP machine on this win 7 machine.

I had to mount it in read/write mode and change some permissions to get access to a user folder within this old image. I was successful in doing that. My concern is that if I have to ever use that image again to restore my old xp machine, will the fact that I made some changes in the permissions somehow negatively effect the restore?

The original permissions are still in place.

Original tib file (or chain in case of incrementals) is not changed when image is mounted in R/W mode. New .tib is created next to it that contains changes performed on mounted image. So if you choose the original .tib it will not contain changes of permissions.

Thanks Colin, I was hoping that was the case.

Thanks Fedor........that explains why I saw another small .tib in the folder where I have the image stored that wasnt there before.
