Clone of C Drive

I have Acronis 11.0. I made a clone of my C drive in November. I suspect my C drive may be on its way out. It made a scraping sound last night and then the sound stopped. It never went down. If I put my clone in its place, what is the best way to update it? The clone is the exact size of my old drive. Do I do a restore of the entire drive. I do a differential backup about every two weeks or at least once a month. I backed up last night after I heard the sound. I have a few DVD backup programs including AnyDvd that have been updated since then. But I don't have any new documents. I haven't added any new programs. I also have Kaspersky which has been updated since then and of course Microsoft has been updating their security. I also updated from INTERNET explorer 7 to 8. Its mostly been updates.
