Clone disk error

Thread needs solution

Using on Windows 7 on an HP desktop, brand new computer. Trying to clone from a larger HDD to a smaller SSD using Clone Disk. The SSD has more than enough space for the clone of all partitions. I begin the operation, select the appropriate disks, and the process begins. In a few seconds, I see the message:

"Reboot is required. A reboot is required to complete this operation. Note that the operation will be canceled if you choose not to reboot now." I approve a reboot, then receive:

"Failed to activate Acronis Bootable Agent." When asking for more details, I see the event code 0x005F0025+0w005F0030+05F002C+0x5F0001 , but couldn't find either the message or the code in the forums or help sections. I previously created an Acronis Recovery Manager CD with the software and it is in the disk drive.

I'm able to create a backup of the HDD without issue.

I apologize if this is answered elsewhere, but as I said, I couldn't find it mentioned. Thanks in advance.

Alan, You would be better off using the bootable recovery media to do the clone instead of doing the clone from within Windows, but I would recommend that if you have an external drive that you create a full disk backup and then do a restore to your new drive, you would have more control over the restoration process then you would if cloning the drive. See this post http://forum.acronis.com/forum/33918, and especially the comments provided by Pat L (Thanks Pat) concerning the correct method to use when dealing with the SSD.
