Clone disk error on ext4 partition

Thread needs solution

I'm a new user of ATI 2014 and have experienced problems clonning a laptop HD.

I've followed all advice that I could find but still get an error whenever I try to clone.

My laptop has Windows 7 & Mint linux installed, with the linux running on an ext4 partition.

example of error...

"Operation with partition "E" was terminated"
"details" block bitmap corrupted (0x70016) Tag=0x8241 CADBFCA70646"

I understand that I can't backup individual files from ext4 but the way I read it, should be able to clone ok.

After running the Acronis System Report a couple of times, I have conducted some experiments relating to ext4 partions.

It seems that Acronis finds a corrupted bitmap block in each ext4 partion, which to me is very strange, given the corruption isn't there if the partion area was previously ntfs.

In summary, it seems ATI system report finds an error for each ext4 partition created.

I'm not sure how to word this but could it be that ATI is not handling the change from one partion to another when there is an ext4 involved?

Thanks for any help or advice.
Cheers.

I think your problem might be that the ext4 partition is reported as a dynamic disk. TI 2014 does not support clone operations on dynamic disks.

Thanks Enchantech.
I understand that may be the case, however, I must add that W7 reports these partions as Basic not dynamic. That said, what W7 sees is not neccessarily what ATI sees & vica-versa.

It's just a puzzle to me that ATI can take an image of a ext4 partition/s ok but cannot clone a bunch of partitions that include ext4. Must have something to do with the level at which the disc read/write takes place for the different opertions but that's just a guess on my part.

Cheers
