to Clone an HDD does'n work

Thread needs solution

I work first with the True Image 2009. So i want to clone a HDD with 40GB to an new with 160GB Acronis makes the partitions at the new HDD bigger but in the same proportion as the old HDD. So with the new Version Acronis True Image 2010 i do the same an i get an error (in German): Klonen der Festplate nicht möglich (can not clone the HDD).
I think the newer Version ist better, bat in my case the new version is not better!!!
Any ideas???

Hello Johannes,

Thank you for using  Acronis Products

I can’t use registered products under your account. Are you using full version of Acronis True Image Home 2010? Have you tried to use Acronis bootable disc to clone the drive?

In case there are any USB devices temporarily detach any USB device that is plugged in. Perform the cloning with the USB device detached.

If you have an inbuilt card reader, then disable it through Windows Device Manager:

   1. Hit Win-R to get to the command prompt;

   2. Type in devmgmt.msc and hit Enter;

   3. In the Device Manager window locate your card reader (it probably starts with letters SD, MMC etc);

   4. Right-click on the card reader and select Disable.
