Cloning a Disk with Operating System (Windows) to a new, faster disk

Thread needs solution

Hello and thanks a lot for this excelent product.

I recently purchased Acronis True Image 2013 together with the Plus Patch ...
I also purchased a new faster HDD. so I want to move everything from my old disk (that is a master disk and includes Ms Windows Installation) to the new one, which has to be bootable to windows ...

So can I do this with TrueImage 2013 ?
I tryed with Cloning, then I removed the old disk but failed to boot ...
Thanks a lot ...

PS
I purchased by mistake the Acronis True Image Home 2012 Plus Pack (not the main software but the plus pack), because I thought that this was the missing part of the True Image 2013 in order to perform the above operation ... What should I do with that ? Is a refunding possible ?

Don't Clone. Do a full disk mode backup (in which all partitions are included) to an external HD.
Then remove the OS HD and replace it with your new drive.
Then boot from the Acronis Recovery Media (either on CD or USB flash drive), and restore the backup image to the new drive.

If the new drive is a different size from the old one, you'll need to adjust partition sizes. See Acronis documents and Grover's tutorials in the left margin of this forum.

Not sure how you managed that, but contact Acronis support and see if they can upgrade you to the 2013 Plus Pack.
