Cloning error while consolidating

Thread needs solution

I'm getting a 'failure to clone backup" message when TI is attempting to consolidate a backup set. I'm not trying to clone anything!

I have to cancel the job.
TI Home 2010 Netbook (Trial) edition Build 4,030 with Windows XP Home SP3
Any idea about what's going on?

Most probably there was some glitch on the consolidation process itself, so we will need to take a closer look at the issue. Could you please kindly provide us with the following?

  1. Could you please provide us with the exact sequence of actions that lead to the problem you report, so that we can reproduce it?
  2. The screenshot of the backup location.
  3. - Download AcronisInfo
    - Run the downloaded file.

    The gathered information will be put in AcronisInfo.zip in the same folder, where the AcronisInfo was saved.

    This information will allow us to take a closer look at the Acronis product state and logs.

Please kindly contact me with the information gathered, we will review it, and I'm positive we will provide you with a solution in the shortest time-frames.

I've deleted the jobs and started over so can't respond. By the way, I tried to get help via support on this trial version - impossible because I couldn't get around the registration number requirement. I sent the details you're requesting to support (as I'm a registered user of another product) asking them to forward it Netbook Trial support - to no avail.

There's no case #. I was totally unable to get tech support because I couldn't register the trial version.

I read the instructions about how to get support but couldn't register the product - it's a trial version - and so couldn't get support. I sent details to Acronis support, using the registration I have for another product, and asked that group to forward it to the group responsible for trial versions of netbook. They never did.

If it's possible to register a trial version, the process has eluded me.

Hi I am running Acronis True Home 2009 and I am also getting the message about cloning a Backup for consolidation purposes.
The only thing unusual is that the target is a Maxtor 200Gig Shared Drive with 100baseT port,
connected via a GigabitSwitch. The onboard diagnostics report no problems with the drive.

Downloaded and attempted to run Acronis Info which failed with the following messages:

Running with default parameters.
Failed to execute action '-no_ra'.
Failed to generate the report from log 'System'.
Failed to generate the report from log 'Application'.
Failed to execute action '-no_acrolog'.
Failed to obtain the list of groups.

Now when I attempt to reload Acronis True home I get a GPF.

Have not attempted a reboot yet.

Does the same occur if you are saving the backups to another location?

Please submit a support request and if you cannot generate an AcronisInfo report, please create a Windows system information file, screenshot of the error and the whole folder: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Acronis
