Cloning Issue with Dell Laptops

Thread needs solution

I am having an issue that has occured on two different Dell laptops I have used True Image 2014 on. I cloned from a HD to a faster SSD.

I performed the clone with the SSD connected via external USB drive. I was able to clone successfully and used the Automatic feature to resize the partitions. Both booted up and seemed to work fine. However anywhere from a few days, to a few weeks later, the hard drive is no longer bootable. In the BIOS I have tried to change and use both Legacy and UEFI boot options, but I haven't been able to get either laptops to boot up.

I have tried to put different boot option paths to .EFI files in the options, but have not had any luck. Tomorrow, I will be trying a Dell Windows 7 disk and seeing if I can repair the disk. In the meantime, has anyone experienced this, and if so, is there a workaround? I do have other laptops I could copy necessary files from if needed.

Is it better to have the new SSD in the PC and the old one in an external USB when cloning, or does it even make a difference?

When the laptops boot, they get an error No Boot Device Detected.

Your destination disk must be installed in machine, source disk can be external, iafter clone disconnect source disk before reboot.
