Cloning not working

Thread needs solution

I am attempting to clone my hard drive. after entering the source and target, I click proceed. I see "calculating . . . " (estimated time) and after about 1 to 2 minutes I get a message that I am REQUIRED to restart my computer and if I don't, it will not clone the drive. So, I restart and nothing happens, no cloning was done. It just brings me back to the desk top. I repeated this 3 times with the same result.

This is a brand new computer, Leonovo 3-in-1 running Windows 8.1, 1 T harddrive (currenly only using 1/4 of the harddrive), Intel Core i7-4700MQ CPU @ 2.40GHz, 2.40 GHz, 8 GB of RAM.

Could this situation be the result of a virus on my computer?

Hello Cynthia,

most likely the issue is caused not by any viruses but by inability of Acronis True Image 2014 to start Linux-based environment after system restart.

Please check if cloning can be successfully performed when started from bootable media.

Thank you.
