Comment cloner une patition system exploitation

Thread needs solution

Bonjour ,

Christophe, welcome to these public User Forums.

Hello ,

I would like to clone a system partiton (windows 10)!

I'll explain: hard disk 0 = C: 250Go and D: 300Go (personal data), so we have 2 partitions) on the same disk. I don't want to recover D: it will remain on this disk.

I just want to clone C: 250 GB, space Use with windows 10 and others = 135 GB, 115 GB remains free, on a 250 GB SDD disk there is more than enough!

What a procedure, to clone that C: with its operating system only and bootable!

Thank you for your help

You cannot clone a single partition for a disk drive with multiple partitions, cloning is intended to copy whole disk drives in a 1:1 process.

What you can and should be doing here is to first make a full disk backup of your source disk drive, including all partitions on that drive.

Next, you should create the Acronis bootable rescue media and test that you understand how to boot your PC from that media (assuming that you intend to use Acronis True Image to perform this migration).

Once you have done the above, then shutdown the PC, remove the existing disk drive and install the new 250GB SSD drive in place of the removed disk drive, leaving the original disk drive disconnected outside of the PC.

Boot from the Acronis rescue media and then Recover the backup created above to the new SSD, selecting all partitions except your D: partition to be restored to the new SSD.

When completed, disconnect the backup drive, remove the rescue media and test that the PC will boot correctly from the new SSD into Windows.  Once all looks good, then you can shutdown the PC and connect the original disk drive as a secondary drive inside the PC and then use an application such as MiniTool Partition Manager to remove all the partitions from the old drive except for the D: partition, then expand the size of that partition to use all the available drive space.
