Comparing hard drive files with files in an Acronis Backup

Thread needs solution

Hi,
I accidentally did a restore of my *Recycle Bin*, allowing the restored files to overwrite files in my hard drive's directories. I'm trying to recover from that. I run regular differential backups of my entire hard drive.

I'd like to use my Acronis to *compare* the files in my latest backup to the files on my hard drive, so that I can identify files on the hard drive that are *older* than the files in the latest backup. Those will be the files that were overwritten during the Recycle Bin restore. See?

Is there any way to do that with Acronis? Or is there another clever way to recover from this boo-boo?

Thanks,

Hello Steven!

Thank you for your post, I will be glad to help you.

You can surely do it. In order to compare files, I would advise you to mount the existing differential backup. After that you will be able to browse the backups like usual drives and compare the file.

Thank you!
