Concerning archive file naming - how many char are we allowed

Thread needs solution

When setting up backups, at one point we are offered a chance to name the archive file.
But regardless of what name you use... ati lets you know that it knows better than you, what the name should be and overwrites the name.

However, some part (the first part) is left alone.

My question is how many characters can we use before ati overwrites the rest.

And, shouldn't there be some warning at that spot in dialog that you are only allowed some certain number of characters before ATI with its bigger/better brain, overwrites the name?

The program will force the ending suffice as per below
_Full_b1_s1_v1
_inc_b1_s2_V1

All parts prior to the above can be controlled by the user. Do understand that the backup task is one name and the tib backup file is another name and you can control both.

After you click the Select destination & browse, you are in control or you can overiide what the program does.
Get the folder and backup file name correct and then just prior to saving the task, change the backup name (task name).

Click on link 2 below and review illustration 7 & 8.
