Copy NT signature or not?
Was going to ask the question about whether to copy the NT signature (Vista x64) for a typical image of OS partition. Assume answer is yes - generally.
I recently got TIH 2011 free after rebate (haven't opened box or mailed rebate - yet!). Reading over complaints on forum, and complaints about support (which I've experienced myself in past), I've decided if I use TI at all, will only be as a 2nd or 3rd BU prgm. I'll look into other pay or free ones. Seems to me Acronis has gone the way of Symantec did w/ their security prgms many yrs ago. Acronis may just be riding it's reputation now.
Recently used TIH 2009 to BU OS to DVDs & verified BU. Ten min later, it couldn't read disk 2. Sad. It's a false sense of security using TI. May work for some, but people don't buy this "hoping it'll work" when need to restore.
Their support policy is ridiculous for technical software like this - 30 days after purchase - HA! With many other quality developers, you get a yr of at least email support. I'm not sure it's worth the hassle to use it, even if free.

Thanks for link to the help page. I'm sure it benefits many.
About copying the NT signature, or not - assuming the OS image is intended to restore to original disk (& probably same partition)?
BTW, when I did the image to DVD w/ v2009, and it couldn't read a disk it just verified, I was using the boot CD.
Maybe BU images to HDDs are ? more reliable than to DVDs? Dunno. Do know that endeavor was huge waste of time.
In about 20 yrs, can't remember once when a disk / CD / DVD was read or verified successfully, that it suddenly became "unreadable" a few min, or months later - ESPECIALLY by the same prgm that burned / copied the files.
