crash while checking ADVANCED OPTIONS on BOOT-CD

Thread needs solution

I used the ISO file from this website to run my ACRONIS BOOT CD on my old FUJITSU NOTEBOOK.
I can create a backup with no problems BUT when I want to check advanced parameters like Image-compression, password ect. the program crashes imediately on clicking the menu :o(
Not the first time it happened.

no answer ?? It happens on many PCs here, mainly ACER.
I can give a more specific descr.

I like to Backup the full HDD
I boot via CD or USB-Stick

Backup Source and Saving-Location works ok
but as soon as I click one of the "optional steps" It crashes AFTER selecting a second "optional step".

f.e. I click BACKUP-METHOD and configure it
O click BACKUP-OPTIONS and it crashes
another example:
After Saving-Location I click BACKUP-OPTIONS and configure it.
I click BACKUP-METHOD and it crashes.

So I can just select ONE "optional step" only. I cannot click through all options which is pretty sh** IMHO
My workaround so far is just to select ONE option and leave the others untouched but
YOU HAVE TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT ! PLEASE!

Aside of this, I like your program very much

This is interesting, though not for you :( There is another thread where two people find that if they select incremental image on the resuce CD, their PC reboots.

Which version and build of TI do you have and on which of the 3 OS's?

well I boot from CD or USB-stiuck so the OS should not be a concern, should it? It happens on XP as well as on Vista.
The Version is the build 6.053

Hello,

HorNet505, MudCrab is absolutely correct. This issue was addressed in the latest build #7046 of Acronis True Image Home 2010. Please download that build, install it and create a new bootable media.

To download the latest build of Acronis software:

  1. Login to your account. If you do not have one, you will need to create it - see Registration at Acronis Website;

  2. Download the latest build from My Products & Downloads;

Please reply to this thread if the issue still persists.

MudCrab, thank you for your help.

negatory,
I just tested the newest image with same results.
PC reboots!

Hello HorNet505,

Could you please clarify: did you create a new media with Bootable Media Builder or just download the ISO image from your account?

The thing is that we haven't updates ISO images on our website yet.

We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience.

Thank you.

well as you mentioned before I downloaded the ISO file.
And yeah I see it's still version 6.0.53.

So I guess I have to make a bootable media from the windows program?
Or tell me when do you plan to update the ISO ?

Hello HorNet505,

Yes, please create a bootable media by the means of Acronis Bootable Media Builder, check Chapter 15 of the User's Guide for more details.

Unfortunately, I can't tell you when the new ISO images will be uploaded.

Thank you.
