Create Bootable CF disk
Using True Image 2014 Premium on XP embedded pro.
I previously created a bootable flash disk on this same hardware. BIOS does support bootable CF drive. I successfully restored from the previous CF card. That was a 16Gb card and a bit too small to get everything. Now trying to do the same thing with a 32 Gb CF card. It will not create bootable media. When I select disk and partition backup it will not let me check 'create bootable media'. When I try to use the Create Bootable media tab all it offers is 'create ISO image'. If I choose this option it does successfuly write the backup to CF drive, and writes the ISO file, but of course it is not bootable that way. I tried deleting everything but one small file from the CF and tried again. No change. Unfortunately the only 15 Gb CF I have is the one with the working backup on it and I don't want to destroy that to try and see if it will create bootable media on that CF again. New card is 32 Gb FAT32 CF card. As far as I can tell neither of these CF cards were identified as specifically bootable or nonbootable. I have 6 paid and now unuseable licenses for this turkey and all Acronis wants to do is sell me an upgrade... Maybe someone here can offer a suggestion. Any help most appreciated.

Thanks for your reply.
Yes, I am able to create a bootable USB stick. "Burning" the ISO onto CF doesn't seem to work, nor does cloning a bootable USB onto CF.
What does seem to work is this: Take my working bootable CF backup disk and delete the backup files from it in Windows file explorer (to save space). Then clone that disk. The clone is bootable. Then I can boot from it or run True Image from the C drive installation and write the backup to the newly created bootable CF card. if I ever loose this original master I am screwed, since the cloned disks do not display directory information, therefore I can't delete the existing backup to make room for another.
All of this is fine (but very time consuming), but it doesn't answer the question of why on the same hardware, same Acronis True Image 2014 installation on the C: drive why I could create bootable media once but not now. Apparently it has nothing to do with type of the CF, since it can be made bootable if I go through this rigamarole.

I wish I could answer that for you, but am not really sure. I know that Acronis is looking for removable media and the format needs to be fat32. Is your CF card exfat or something other than fat32?
