Creating Bootable Disc

Thread needs solution

I have 2014 Full Version installed.
I want to create a bootable disc for cloning.
I have created 2 disc's. Both will boot my computer, BUT:
I have no keyboard or mouse support.
I am using a Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse (ie. usb)

What am I doing wrong here.
My old 2010 disc seems to work, why won't a 2014 work?

Welcome Randall,

To be safe, please ensure you are running the latest build of 2014 available, currently 6688 - http://www.acronis.com/en-us/support/updates/index.html

Additionally, it is not possible for every release/build to support every hardware configuration available. Its possible the newer Linux kernel doesn't have the support, or a decision had to be made to delete support for an older chipset or controller in favor of more current hardware configurations. There is a limit as to the number of devices the vanilla CD is capable of supporting. Hopefully, using the latest build might resolve. Other possible solutions are using a WinPE boot disk. USB chipsets have evolved dramatically, so a newer CD being used with "older hardware" may not be a good match.

Shadowsports,

my current is 6673 and the updater tells me I am up to date. Odd!
My machine and components are a year old.
running win 7.

do i need to pay for acronis 15 to do this.

Log into your Acronis account and select "My Products and Downloads". Find Acronis True Image 2014 and click the "+" sign. Then click the Latest Build tab. You should see build 6688. There is no charge to download the latest version.

Hello Everyone!

Please be aware that we have released Update 3 for Acronis True Image 2014 on EN-US. The Build number is 6688. This build is available only on US locale.

What's new?
The only change in this build compared to previous one is that Acronis Universal Restore is not included in main product build. Instead, Acronis Universal Restore is provided as a separate ISO image. This change was done to ensure that our users always get the latest version of Universal Restore tool that supports new hardware.

We have changed the way Acronis Universal Restore is used: User needs to download Acronis Universal Restore ISO image and burn it to a CD/DVD, then apply Universal Restore after recovery to restore system bootability. See the following KB article for instructions: https://kb.acronis.com/node/47792

There are no other changes, no bugfixes, no new features.

This build will not be detected by "Check for updates" feature in the product.

(!) Since this build contains no new changes, you can consider build 6673 as the last one. No need to ask users to update to 6688 if they have any issues with 6673.

Universal Restore
Acronis Universal Restore will be available for download under MyAccount for owners of Acronis True Image 2014 Premium Edition as an ISO image. Separate download should be available today later. I will let you know when this change goes live.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you.

Build 6688 has no bugfixes or improvements.

Hi Randall,
We didn't know what build you had reading your first post. Thanks for clarifying this. As Joey points out, no significant changes between 6673 and 6688 exist. I'm not going to tell you that you need to purchase 2015. You can certainly use a wired keyboard as a work around on those occasions when needed. You can also test a 2015 boot CD for free using the trial option which would let you confirm support prior to purchase if you decided to upgrade.

**^^ Edit - One other thing does come to mind. Have you tried moving the receivers to different ports, say from USB 3.0 to 2.0 ports? Also confirm your BIOS settings are correct, some MB's work differently depending on BIOS settings or the ports being used. Its less common, but from time to time I've seen issues like these occur. Also, if you are using a hub, this too can also cause problems.

Shadowsports,
Thought about the wireless issue due to my wife's machine. I have tried a wired keyboard, with no luck there.
I will try moving the wireless connection, it is in a hub.
Thank you for your patience!
Randy
