Creating a weekly full backup

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I have made manual backups with TIH 2012 for the last three months and would like to start to make the backups automatically (with the scheduler). Is there an easy way to set TIH so that it makes one copy of my entire system once a week and simply replaces the one it made the previous week?

Thank you!
DL

As per the Tuttle's link reference, you could use figure 11-full as your guide and set it to retain only 1 recent version chain as per your goal. However, the program would create the replacement before deleting the old backup so you would need to allow space for the additional backup. If this is to be your only backup, having it deleted so quickly leaves you at risk. Have additional backups stored elsewhere or at least keep more than just the 1 copy setting.

If you want your backup to be able to create a replacement disk, if needed, the best type of backup to have is one that includes all partitions --including any non-lettered ones. This is a a disk option backup listed under the "disk mode" selection windows as shown inside the referenced link.
