Deleting Backups Using Acronis 2014

I bring up Acronis 2014. I go to my previous backup, highlight it and then go to settings and say delete. I got the rotating circle with "Deleting Backup". Two hours later it says the same thing. I have to force my way out of Acronis, manually delete the backup on my hard drive. I'm certain this isn't how Acronis wants it down but I don't have ny other choice. Why won't Acronis delete my backup?
