Disk Backup Settings won't save TI 2013 (v6514)...
Hi, I have been having trouble keeping the settings I have set. I tick the box "Save as default". But every time I start TI the settings are back to original. So I have to set it up all again each time I start TI.
Any suggestions?

Thank you so much! I searched on Google but my mistake for not searching here. I apologize.

No worries.
If you want to save backup settings because you do all your backups manually, there's a better way:
create a Backup Task with your desired options.
A task does not need to be run on a schedule. You can run a task manually, and can even create a desktop shortcut to it so you can launch it from your desktop or in fact anywhere you choose to save it.

I'm afraid I cannot work out how to create a backup task in TI2013 V6514 to run manually with an icon on the desktop? Thank you.

Peter,
Simply, make a task, select 'Schedule later', save the task, now right click on the task in the task list (do this before you first run the task). click on More.... and then select 'Create shortcut'

Thank you Colin for your time. I assume this process is not part of TI and must be done in Win8? I have right clicked the taskbar but the only viable link is 'Task manager' but the Task Manager does not give me the choices you suggest. Thank you, Peter

No, this is from within True Image.
Note I said nothing about the task bar or manager, I was referring to an Acronis Task from the task list. If you are still stuck, I'll make some screenshots of my TIH install. That though is on my laptop, so I'll have to boot that up tomorrow.

I'm sorry to be a pain but that would be appreciated because I can find no path in TI to do that. Perhaps I have to integrate TI in to Windows or have the Plus Pack?
Thank you.

Note my comments in the screenshots. Tasks cannot have a schedule enabled and must be tib type not VHD or ZIP.

The only problem with this method is that there is no choice of backup location, one is stuck with the configuration from the initial backup. When I double click the icon the programme just runs with no indication on the desktop it is running.

George,
Which problem?
In 2014, the default settings are saved. Not all setting are included as being saved, it depends upon which setting you refer.
A running task not appearing in the sys tray is suupposed to be on the list of fixes to be done on the next build release.
Peter,
When a new target location is needed, the best solution is to create a new task. Editing an existing task, even if your the main GUI, the facat that the task is changed by an edit, will often not produce the results you expect. The best solution is a new task which points to the desired locatiions. Certainly, you have different tasks and each task can point to a specific location. The desktop shortcut is available for any task .
Note to all. The desktop shortcut will also work on scheduled tasks. It is not restricted to non-scheduled tasks. The shortcut can be used to create random extra tasks even on scheduled backups.

I manually do a full backup once a week. When I go into Disk and Partition Backup the backup scheme shows Incremental. I click on that and get Disk Backup Options. I have set up an option I have named "Full". I select that and choose some clean-up options including not storing more than 2 recent versions. At the bottom I put a check in Save the Settings as Default and then click on OK.
Next time I go in the backup scheme shows Incremental. Nothing is saved as default.

George,
As I wrote above:
In 2014, the default settings are saved. Not all setting are included as being saved, it depends upon which specific setting you refer. "
If you save select a Custum scheme and then save as default, then yes, that specific setting seems to be saved correctlly such as Custom Full, or Custom Diff or Custom Inc and the options are also saved.
However, if you assign a name to the custom scheme, it will appear as simply custom.
None of the other backup schemes (single version, etc) are saved as default. The default reverts to Incrmental.
I believe this was reported by Acronis as being under an item which needs fixing.
When you begin a new task and the prior settings have been saved as default, here is what I found.
Password is saved as default.
Validation setting saved as defaut
Screenshot setting saved as default.
Source=no
Partition or Disk mode=no--Always begins as partition mode
Stored location =not saved
Comment=not saved
Schedule=not saved Each new default always reverts to Weekly.
Backup scheme=all revert to Incremental except for custom
