Disks not detected in BIOS but Aronis Media Builder sees disks

Thread needs solution

I had my Windows 7 machine off for a few days. It would not boot after turning on even though the Marvell Adapter shows the disks. On going into the ASUS BIOS setup, it is not detecting the disks. Upon booting into Acronis Media Builder on a CD, I can see the disks and can even backup files from them.

Any Ideas?

Thanks,
Jeff

Do you have another disk controller on your motherboard that you can attach your disk to? This would allow you to know if the Marvell controller has some issues.

At first I thought not. But I switch around to other SATA ports. It appears that if I take the boot drive which is port 2 on the Marvel controller to another port and play around with the boot settings. The systems boots fine and the other disk on port 1 in the Marvel controller also works fine.

My mobo is Asus P6X58D Premium

I would check your bios version and make sure that it is up to date. Keeping such things current often solves a myriad of problems
