display when using recovery disk

I have Home professional 12 {I think it is 12, but is latest anyway} and when I have to use the recovery CD to recover, the display is very blurry, like the video driver is not right. Very hard to read any of the options. I had the same problem with Home version 10 and had hoped that when I upgraded to 12 it would fix the problem.
Will AcronisInfo provide any help in determining what the issue is?
