Do I need to run Mail Backup daily as well as image

Thread needs solution

ATI2012 - I see the Mail backup tab as well as the Image tab.
Scenario - I want to recover an image from a week ago and I want to recover my Windows Mail folder from yesterday.
1. If all I have is an Full image from a week ago and daily Differential Images - will I be able to recover my Full image and then apply JUST the Window Mail folder from yesterday's Differential Image? And have a successful Windows Mail restore?
2. the reason I ask this is because
2.a you have a separate tab for Mail backup
2.b Windows specifies a procedure of using Windows Organize - Copy/Paste to backup and restore your Windows Mail folder.
2.c if the answer to #1 is no, then do I need to run both Image and Mail backup daily?

my current set up - Vista Home Premium, Windows Mail, ATI2009
my alternative is to remember to do a Windows Organize - Copy to save my Windows Mail folder BEFORE I restore my image

Since you have a Differential Image from yesterday, based on a full disk image, then restore that. That will include everything, including mail. The only reason to later do a separate mail restore is if you had a mail backup that is more recent than your latest Differential image.

tuttle has good points.
Also, consider your disk and partition backup as your more reliable backup. Any other backup can fail to live to your expectations when you need it. So always make sure you have a disk and partition backup that never gets too old for you to go back to, if you really had to (hint: when your more recent email, file or non-stop backup doesn't restore the file you need for some unexpected reason).

thank you tuttle and Pat.
1. my scenario was that My Windows was working but not very well, the last time it worked well was 1 week ago. I had to recover from a week old image but I also wanted to recover my mail from yesterday. This would put me current with a working OS again.

2. I read Windows support for Windows Mail backup and they used Windows Organize (a tab found on any explorer screen) which threw me off. Organize just seems to be a tool to Select All, Copy, Paste etc files from inside of folders. Hence I assume if I restored my week old image and then used the differential from yesteday to Copy & Paste of the folders containing my Inbox, Outbox, Send etc. I should be OK. i.e. I do not need any special program to process Windows Mail, a simple Copy and Paste from a differential back up to the correct folder will work. Is this correct? The Acronis tab for Mail backup is superfluous an image and differential is all that I need to accomplish my Scenario . That is what I understand from your response.

Yes, you are correct. A partial backup (increment or differential) would capture all the files and folders that have changed. With ATI, you would be able to mount the image (for example) and just copy the latest files back onto the disk.
