Do not have privilege to access backup user files in mounted partitions backup after system factory restore.
I restored my WIN7 64 Bit Home Premium system to factory condition and now do not have required privilege to access c:\users\hwblake folder in mounted partitions backup. There are two new account unknowns found on properties/security tab as follows:
Account Unknown (S-1-5-21-1525181695-3380520159-2142352171-1001) and
Account Unknown (S-1-5-21-1525181695-3380520159-2142352171-1002).
These two new users are likely from my user and administrator privilege under the old system.
I do not now have privilege to edit users (or owner) on the hwblake folder security tab of the mounted partitions backup. Therefore I cannot restore individual files.
I tried changing privileges on the backup .tib file but it didn't clear the issue. What's the recommended fix? Thanks...

I purchased a license for TrueImage2014 in Oct 2013. I immediately downloaded the install .exe and installed the code and then activated it on the computer in question. After restoring this computer to original factory condition over the weekend, I again downloaded the installation .exe for TrueImage2014 from my user account, re-installed it and re-activated it using the original license and serial number. I don't believe that my issue is an activation issue.

Sorry, seems I misunderstood your issue. Are you getting an error message when this occurs? Something like Access Denied or You do not have permission to access this file, conatct your system administrator?
Are you running TI using an administrator account? I also assume that you did a clean install of Win 7 on the machine and that you are attempting to access files within a backup created before your restore?

Henry,
Instead of mounting the image, try browsing the archive in windows explorer. Double click the tib file and it will treat the image like you're just opening a series of folders allowing you to access all files without windows security settings getting in the way. When you mount the image, it becomes a live windows system protected by windows security settings.
The attached screenshot shows trying to open the user folder New in a mounted image on the left versus opening the user folder New while browsing the tib image in windows explorer on the right.

Both times that I installed TI, I picked the "automatic activation" option. I didn't get the "too many Activations" warning on the second install.
Yes I get the message "you don't currently have permission to access this folder".
Yes I am running as an administrator. I also get the same results if I "right click" TI.exe and click "Run as Administrator".
You are correct. I did a restore to factory condition using Acer eRecovery Mamagement and the Acer install partition with the Acer program running in WIN7 64 Bit. (My windows was still working before the restore).
Yes, I am attempting to access my files by mounting the TI.tib backup file and double clicking on C:\Users\hwblake. That's when I see the "no permission" message.
Thanks

I tried your suggestion and it worked perfectly !
You saved my bucket. And the screenshots were a big help.
I didn't want to do a full restore because I had the dreaded IE9 32 Bit "blank screen disease" that everyone who is running WIN7 64 Bit is getting.
I would have never thought of trying to directly access the TI.tib files because I have always first mounted a partition backup to access the individual files.
I love TrueImage. It keeps on saving my cookies. It has great redundancy.
Thanks a bunch !!!

Bob,
Joey suggested that I directly access the TI.tib file using a double click. I tried it and it worked perfectly. See his post and screenshots...
Consider my problem solved and my issue closed.
Thanks for your help.
