DVD or CD Files/Folders Archive Cannot be Browsed/Explored/Expanded
ATI Home 2010 Build 7,160 (latest as of the date of this post).
Windows 7 x64 v6.1 (SP1)
Is there any particular reason why I should not be able to browse a files/folders archive on a DVD or CD-ROM? Right clicking to the context menu in either Windows Explorer or the ATI recovery section and choosing "explore" or "expand" results in a progress circle for about half a second followed by a short blink, then nothing. Same result when clicking on a + expander in a folder tree.
I tried this on two different model DVD drives and one CD-ROM drive using various media. The archives validate just fine. And, if I copy an archive over from a DVD to a hard drive, there is no problem browsing the same archive that would not browse on the DVD or CD if I browse the HDD copy.
I realize from reading the forums that Acronis has problems with DVD operations, including mapping partitions to a drive letter and restore operations. However, my problem has to do with a files/folders archive and not with a partition image archive. I could find no guidance for the particular problem that I am describing.
Strangely, there is no security tab in properties for an archive on DVD or CD; so I cannot test the "lack of permissions" theory.
Could someone please suggest what may be going on here?
Perhaps the Acronis Backup Archive Explorer driver has a bug that prevents it's invocation for a USB optical drive? The date of said driver in Device Manager on my system is 9/29/2009. That seems a bit old for my ATI version, I would think that the drivers should be updated when one installs a build update. So, I do not know...
Thank you,
Bruce
