email back up issue

Thread needs solution

Hello

I have 2 things to mention.

  1. Just recently my daily email back up has been showing an error in the log. "Failed to open data stream. Operation has completed with errors". I can't find anything to explain this in the Knowledge base or forum. What is this and how can I fix it?
  2. My backup is a customised incremental, full version every 5 days, store no more than 2 chains. But I have 4 full versions in my back up location.

I have the latest version on ATIH - Update 2 build 6868

Thanks

I have also noticed this as well. I have been looking for a few days if there is anything on this and haven't been able to find anything. I'm posting my log here to see if anyone see's anything out of the ordinary.

It seems like something goes weird around Line 20.

Dave M,

1- There can be a lot of reasons for this. Verify that the access to the destination is not interrupted, and try again. If still there, delete the backup task and create another one.

2- Maybe you have edited your backup task or some update perturbated ATI. Delete your backup task and create a new task. (You can preserve a TIB file momentarily by moving/copying it to another directory before deleting the task).

Michael,

You must have autoconsolidation turned on, or you are backup up to the Acronis Secure Zone and you are running out of space.

I did have auto cleanup turned on, I have now turned it off. The reason I had it turned on is because I do have limited space so my backup scheme is as follows.

Create a full backup one night
Create a differential backup the next
Create a differential backup the next

The process starts over again. When a new full backup is created on the fourth night, I need it to delete the previous full backup and the 2 differential backups.

Will it do this automatically?

Thanks
Michael

Yes, it will do automatically but it will first create the new full, and then delete the previous chain. Make sure you have enough space.

New full backup was created, but the previous chain did not get deleted. I'm going to watch it over the next couple of days. It should create a differential tonight and Thursday night. A new full backup will show up show up Friday night and the previous chain of 1-full, 2-differential, should delete automatically.

Thanks.
