Error Attempting to Install on WIN8 RTM
The install looks like it is getting to the end and then it rolls back and says fatal error.

Robert,
Try deleting the temp files/folder in your user profile. Start with rebooting your system. After it boots up, press the Windows Logo "Start" key and type %temp% and hit the "enter" key. This will take you to your user profile temp folder. Delete all the files/folders that you can and then close the Window. Try the installation again.
As posted by krabbe, right-click on the installation file and in the General tab near the bottom, unblock the file if it is blocked, then try the install again

Here's what finally worked: I saved the install file (instead of saying run). I got into properties and did 2 things: checked it to run in Windows 7 compatibility, and checked it to run as an administrator. I did the same thing with the 2013 plus pack. Both installed just fine. Thank you for waking up my brain.

Unfortunately, they installed but do not run, even if the modules are set to run in WIN 7 compatibility mode. There are no error messages.
It appears that I wasted my money on Acronis True Image 2013, perhaps until the end of October when there will be many more Windows 8 users, some of whom will attempt to install this. I am disappointed.

Robert,
I have installed 2013 build 5551 and the Plus Pack on Windows 8 DP, Windows 8 RP, Windows 8 Pro RTM, and Windows 8 Enterprise RTM Eval many times with no problems. I have not needed to run the installer or the any of the application modules in any type of compatibility mode.
It could be that installing the main program and the Plus Pack in Windows 7 compatibility mode may have created issues for you. I would un-install and then download the 2013 cleanup utility found here http://kb.acronis.com/content/34876. After you run this utility, I would download new copies of your installation files and save them into a new location on your hard disk. Once downloaded, right-click on each of them, select properties, and check the General tab to see if they are being blocked by Windows. Click the unblock button if they are. Be sure you are installing while logged in as a user with administrative rights. You can elevate running the installation files to "Run and Administror" by right-clicking and selecting "Run as Administor" if you wish, but this is not normally necessary. Be sure that you clean out your user profile temporary files/folders before starting the installs again.

I can also say 2013 runs on W8 RTM, so we need to find out how your system might differ.
Have you tried extracting the MSI installer and see if the install then goes OK? The only extra step you might need is to right click and select 'run as admin'.
To extract the MSI installer, right click on the install option on the menu and select extract. If it still fails to install find where the MSI installer log is in your Windows Temp folder, remove your serial number (which will be in three places) and then post it here. Alternatively if you have purchased TI 2013 you are eligible for Acronis Support, though I'm not sure if they are officially supporting W8 problems before the public release next month.
