Error Reading Disc sector - wont backup - Failed to Read Snapshot

Thread needs solution

Acronis 2014, latest build (6674), Windows7
Been running fine, suddenly wont backup to the (any) external USB drive >>

Says: Event code: 0x000101FE+0x0010C45A+0x00100155
Failed to Read From Sector '6,161,326' of hard disk1 (the external), Failed to Read the Snapshot

Ran check disk. Replaced the external drive a brand new one (larger 2TB Western Digital) Same error. Changed the drive letter. Reformatted, Ran chdsk / r, unistalled Acronis, re-installed.
Both drives still fail to take a backup.
Now that I have formatted them both I of course don't even have an old backup (!)
This affects a regular backup as well as a non-stop backups.
Deleted old backups in Acronis and built new ones... still same error. What is left?

You have a pb with the source disk. The pb might be in a hidden partition. You can assign a drive letter to hidden partitions temporarily to run chkdsk /r on each of them.
If that doesn't solve the pb, run a file backup on each partition. ATI will choke on any file that is corrupted, but will tell you which one it is. You can then try to move the file, or delete it to repair the situation.
