Error while transferring data between computers

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I have created a few sync's in which three computers participate. They seemed to run fine but recently new files were not getting updated. Although three computers do get shown up under each sync, the log says "there are no participants online" proceeded by "Error while transferring data between computers" of Event code: 0x019A4E36+0x0191000D, which I could not find in the Acronis Knowledge Base.

Trying to troubleshoot the problem, I created a new sync with just two computers participating, which are wired to the same switch and can access Internet as well. Both computers are shown up under the sync on either TrueImage console. Yet, the log gave the same error and no files were sync'ed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Are all 3 computers showing up in your account under synchronisation?

Were the users logged in to their Windows sytems at the time or logged out but PCs booted?

Yes, all 3 computers showed up in my account under sync! And the users (myself) were logged into the computers.

By the way, one computer is at home and two at work. Could various firewalls/switches deter the sync from happening?

Thanks!

It is possible that a firewall could be blocking the ports required, I'm not sure though what ports it uses.

You could check the following that are used by another Acronis product - 111, 9000, 764, 9876, 9877 alongside the standard FTP ports of 20 and 21.

Which out of your combination mentioned in your last post do actually talk to each other?

If it has to listen to standard and ad hoc ports, the sync will not work in my case. All these ports are blocked and beyond my control...

Thanks anyway!

Also just realized my file explorer became sluggish. A quick look revealed dllhost.exe was piled up in the memory; DCOM Surrogate was reported. A search in this forum showed this was a known issue.

Disappointed, I uninstalled True Image from my systems! The computers, and myself, have regained sanity...

Tony, there is a patch which will solve the sluggishness issue.

I'm not saying the ports listed are the problem you are seeing, but it is a possible cause.
