Exclusions and Inclusions

Thread needs solution

I setup Non Stop Backup to backup my entire M: Drive. But woudl I would like to do is to have it back up M:, with some folders excluded, some filetypes excluded, and include a folder from C:\.

It seems from the UI, that I won't be able to do all that.

1,) Since I selected M:\, I assume that any new file / folder that doesn't fall under the exlusion are added to NSB.

If I went the route of selecting files/folders via the check box mode, how woudl that handle new files and folders? For instance, if I left c:\program files unchecked, but then installed a new program, would that new file/folder under c:\program files be backed up?

The pagefile and hibernation files are not included as they can be automatically created when Win boots up after the image is restored. Other than that, exclusions are pretty much what you can manage fromthe UI.

UIf you checked "C:\", then it should be included, unless you sepcifially excluded it -- ATI doens't keep a list of all your files; it works by rule, so when it applies the rule the next time, it would inclulde everything under C:\ except what has been specifically excluded.
