Extremely SLOW Validation
Using licensed version of TIH 2011 Build (6597). Full backups to WD 1TB WD10EACS Sata drive in a Thermaltake Black X HD Doc via USB 2.0 port. Taking an image backup of 134 GB on a 500GB Hitachi in a drive cady. Backup Perfomance Options set Normal Compression Level and HIGH Operation Priority. Backup runs in a couple hours or so. Validation appears to hang - very little progress with esitmates of 1 day x hours etc.

Pat L: Actually, Validation takes waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay longer than the actual back up. As much as ten times longer. It's a dog.

This is normal when you create partial backups: the partial backup can be short, but the validation goes through the entire chain starting from the full that begins the chain.
So the validation time of the nth partial is the validation time of the last full + the validation time of each partial from 1 to n.

Its still happening.
I have found the backup to be Ok - about the same time as True Image 2010. The validation however would run into DAYS if I let it!!!!!
I back up about 150GB this takes an indicatet (about) 30 Minutes but is infact somewhat slower than this, but is much the same as True Image 2010
If I try ti backup and validate as one operation ie the program goes directly from backup to validation, the validation shows three days to start with and this increases with very little movement of the progress bar. I have waited six - to seven hours to what is happening and the estimated time increases from three days to one MONTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If however I first of all backup and then seperatly validate the two are about the same time ir both take about 30 minutes (about the same as TI 2010.
i have an outstanding query with Acronis over this problem - I wonder if it ever be resolved!
Just incase you are wondering this is from one hard disk to another and both are internal on a Windows 7 platform
I am conidering re-installing TI 2010 to resolve this issue.

Same issue here!
I am Running Backup & Recovery 11 (build 11.0.17318) I am experiencing the same issue. My backup plan is type 'Custom'. I only schedule FULL BACKUPS and I never schedule partial backups. It must be validating all of the previous Full Backups in the Vault. It should validate backups last to first and stop validating after it completes validation any Full Backup. In my case then it would only validate the last backup since I only ever actually schedule and run Full Backups. In my case I have to turn validation off. This is a bad form and is areal hack to get around this issue. It seems to me to be any easy problem to fix by Acronis please or advise me on how to edit my backup plan to only run full backups and avoid this issue. I DO NOT LIKE HAVING TO TURN VALIDATION OFF just to get my nightly backups to complete in a timely fashion.
Acronis, please advise.
