Failed Backup

Thread needs solution

After a backup attempt for a full backup of my computer, I get the following message: Failed to exclusively access back up F:my backup 2014_01_01_full b4_s1_v1.tib during consolidation. The back up appears to be on the external hard drive. Can anyone tell me about this message and how to eliminate the message and assure that I have a completed backulp

It looks like some other process (Antivirus? Windows Indexing? Windows Explorer? Windows maintenance? An instance of Acronis True Image?) is still accessing the file.
BTW, I would stay away from consolidation. Use automatic clean-up, keep only a certain number of versions. This is the clearest and simplest way to manage backup files.
