Failed C Drive Replacement

Thread needs solution

I am using True Image 2011. I need to replace my "C" drive and restore an image backup. Do I have to go to tools and use add new drive then restore the image or can I just restore the image?
Thanks
Jim

Maybe or maybe not -- depends on the drive condition. If you have a full hdisk backup then you can probably go straight to restore. However, if the drive has not been initialized, then it might not be seen -- but how can you initialize it if you don't have windows running? That's what add new disk is for.

James,
Look at signature link #3 below and either guide #2 or guide #1 should be applicable. If the replacement disk is same size, then the #2 disk option restore would apply.

The base key for a successful replacement is if the backup was an all inclusive disk option backup so the backup included all non-lettered or hidden partitions or restore partitions such as illustrated by this link.
