Failed to change MAC Address of my network adapter ?

Thread needs solution

Some internet service providers bind services to a selected mac address; if the user then changes their network card or intends to put in a router, the service will not work any longer. changing the mac address of the new interface can solve the matter. Similarly, some package licenses are guaranteed to a selected mac address. ever-changing the mac address during this method is not permanent: when a bring up, it\'ll revert to the waterproof address physically hold on within the card. A mac address is 48 bits in length.

The solution I've used in such cases is to spoof the MAC address on the router. The router will give out the client computer's original MAC address, thus satisfying the ISP.

But, that was several years ago. I doubt many ISPs do this anymore in most countries with large Internet use, since so many users have home networks with multiple clients.
