Failed to open backup in Temp folder

Thread needs solution

The backup of a drive is failing because it's looking for a file in a temp folder.

C:\Users\Name\AppData\Temp\tmpd0.tmp

The old backup was removed from the list and moved to another folder as advised by the log files as it said 'Not backed up yet' despite having two versions. I then created a new backup but the old tib files were moved to another folder after removing old backup from list.

It is looking for a temp file for a backup which has been removed from the list.

It says it's consolidating backups but I removed it from the list and moved backups to another folder so the new backup can start fresh. The fresh backup should have a new reference number.

Same again after retrying it stops at six minutes remaining looking for the temp file.

I cannot delete the backup I can only remove from the list.

I'll try backing up to another drive and then try moving it if the backup is successful.

What I did then is create a new backup to another drive. This worked but with message 'cannot find backup in temp folder'. came up.

I tried to move the backup but the same message 'cannot open backup in temp folder' appeared.

I closed acronis and moved the backup manually in windows explorer to the wanted location on another drive.

Then I opened acronis and removed the old backup from the list. Then I clicked 'Browse for backup'. Then 'Recreate backup settings'.

Clicked 'backup now' and a differential backup was created but with same error message of missing temp file.

I clicked 'Recover files' and a message 'cannot find backup files in backup location' came up. I clicked ignore on all three.

Was able to browse through my files in the backup as normal in 'recover files'.

Restarted acronis and clicked 'Backup now' and it backed up with no error messages.

The best option in these cases is to delete and make a new task.
