Failed To Open Item

Critical Problem: Unable to restore valid backup file. I'm using Acronis True Image Home V12, Build 7119, with Windows 7. Have a Full Backup with several subsequent diffential backups. For other reasons at mentioned here, I've lost contacts on myPC, iPhone and the iCloud, and absolutely must recover the outlook.pst file from My Backups. There are 580+ contacts at stake!
But when I locate the differential backup I need, right-click -- Archive -- Recover, I receiive error message "Failed to open item K:\My Backups\...etc." So I ran a complete Validation, and every backup file proved Valid. I am at a loss on how to proceed. Please give me some ideas. Thank you.
