False Warning: : "System Volume Backup not created"
I have created a System Volume Backup. Two yesterday in fact. Just to see if i could get rid of this false warning. Once it went away after a new backup but then came back after re-boot. What gives? This is a brand new install running for two weeks.

Actually, I see this message all the time. I use the bootable, rescue CD to do all backups to an external HD. I also use the CD to do restores. When you create the backup from within Windows, the message will go away. Using the rescue CD, and then booting into the ATI Windows environment, it appears it's never been done (even though it has).

Hello Berryman,
Thank you for using Acronis Products
First of all please make sure that you are using the latest build of the program. Check it in Help -> About. You can always download the latest build of the program from your account under Registered Products.
In order to get rid of this warning message please create full backup from Protection State window.

I have the same problem, and I use the latest build (9.769). I tried to create full backup from protection state window as suggested, but the warning doesn't disappear. Perhaps, problem depends from ATI? I save my backup images on an external HD too.

I have the same problem. I back up to a Drobo which is not offline (because my backups run successfully every night and one is running as I type this).
Every day or 2, I suddenly have the "System volume backup: not created warning" message and, if I click "manage backups", the system volume backup is not listed. I can click "browse for backups" and add the System Volume Backup but that doesn't make the warning go away.
Also, when this happens, the email I receive after the backup is finished no longer has the correct location listed. It now says
10 Information 9/22/2009 12:04:17 AM Create Incremental Backup Archive From: Disk 1 To file: "" Compression: etc
Instead of listing the correct location. Later in the report, the location of the incremental backup is correct. I think it is a bug in the software (Acronis True Image Home 2009, which I bought on September 13... can I get an upgrade?) that is losing the location of the backup.
The suggested workaround above is to make another full backup from the protection state window? No thank you, I bought this software so that I could avoid manually making backups every day or 2.

Same problem (ATI 2009). This problem just started showing up. I save my System State to a ASZ on a secondary hd. I cleared the ASZ, deleted the task, re-wrote a new task and had it save the System State to the ASZ. Looks fine... BUT the warning is still there!!

Still having this problem. I save to my ASZ on a second internal HD. If go into the ASZ and delete the existing SVB and recreate it, its fine for a couple of days, then the warning reappears.
I can probably ignore the warning, as has been suggested, safe in my assumption that, in fact, I do have a good SVB, but from the perspective of good computing practice, "assuming" you have a good backup sort of defeats the whole intent of using the True Image product.

This warning just seconds after completing a full backup "Your system is unprotected." I too have seen the advice on other forums to ignore the warnings but it does little to instill confidence in Acronis. It could be due to the external drive where the backup is committed but that drive is never disconnected and it seems Acronis should have been able to address these problems by now. Some of the posts I've been finding on this topic have been around for a long long while.

I also get this error.
I created full backups, bootable media and activated recovery, then recreated this backup. Still the message shows as 'unprotected'.
I agree with Alan (Dec 19th post) that this is not filling me with confidence about Acronis product.

I too am getting an apparent false System state: Alert in the program workspace. I have a task to create a differential system state backup and when run as a scheduled task, I get a red "System state: Alert. Last attempt to backup was unsuccessful: " warning. However, in both cases, the logs and task summary each show the job completed successfully. Validation of the file also shows it to be fine.
Same true when this task is run manually.
Or when the task is changed to a create an new full backup archive (of system state).
Or when a new task is created from scratch.
Using Acronis True Image Home ver 11 build 8,101 on Windows 7 Ultimate (32 bit).
Backing up system state while booted on 2nd partion of primary drive to folder on second internal drive. (dual boot with XP resting on first partition) The task is defined under System Administrator account.
I don't want to be conditioned to ignore these alerts. Any ideas on the cause?

Hello all,
I understand the question and will do everything possible from my side to solve the issue.
Every hard disk has a unique ID, Acronis True Image searches for the external drive ID every time the program is launched in case the backup was scheduled to it. That is why you see warning message once you detached the external drive. There is nothing to worry about, but in order to be 100% sure you may check backup archives with software validation tool.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
Thank you.
