File Backup does not skip deselected files/folders

Thread needs solution

I am trying to backup only certain files from 3 drives. I have deselected a few very large folders that add up to 4 TB, with around 100 GB selected, but when I start the backup it just goes on and on well past the 100 GB, when it gets to 2TB I stopped it, went back and looked at the parameters and the folders are still deselected. This is the first time I have used the file backup.

Fred, please can you confirm what build of ATIH 2015 you have, #6613 is the latest available?

Have you checked the logs for when this problem was shown; look in C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Logs - it may be worth while clearing the logs folder (copy the contents to a temporary folder) and then run a further file/folder backup as a test (perhaps with only a subset of files at first) then if the same problem repeats, check the logs for what is shown there?

You could also double-check the task script to confirm that your exclusions are shown correctly in the XML text data?
C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts - check the start of the XML text for the task name you gave.
Note: It is not recommended to make any changes to the script data.  The file can be opened in Notepad or similar.

Steve - Thanks for the reply, here is what I found:

So, the build is the latest and there is some kind of error. the script files seem fine, all the folders I deselected are in an "exclude" block.

Bottom line is - I deleted the backup and made three new ones, one for each drive. All three show the full amount but when backing up, the excluded folders are in fact, excluded. I will try sometime to create a backup of files from all three drives and see if it excludes the deselected folders again.

Fred, you can ignore the message "OnlineBackup is not logged in." as that would only apply if you have subscribed to the Acronis Cloud service and were backing up your files to the cloud.  I see that message myself after having a trial of cloud with ATIH 2016 - I do all my backups to local or network drives.
