File left over after unmounting

Thread needs solution

Successfully mounted and unmounted a .TIB archive file to access some data. After I unmounted I noticed that a file of the same name was created with a "2" at the end of the file name. What is this file for? Can I delete it?
Thanks

That would seem to indicate that you mounted the archive in read/write mode and you changed or added a file. The resulting #2 is the change.

Should you need to restore your backup, then selecting the #2 would include the change you made into a new restore.

Only delete the #2 if do do not want to keep the change/addition.
