"File Record Corrupted" on Image Backup

Thread needs solution

Upon asking Acronis True Image Home 2009, with maximum compression+encryption to Image an 80Gb Single-Partition Drive (not sector-by-sector), stored on to a 40Gb (empty) drive.
(Source drive has about 35Gb full)

Acronis starts preparations for imaging, then gives the error:

"Operation with partition "3-0" was terminated
Details: File record Corrupted (0x70019)
Tag=0xEF8B1618A4C0DD97"

Then won't go any further.
I have restarted the machine and failed identically, twice.

Please help. How can I get the image to work.

First thing is to run chkdsk X: /r on the 80GB partition. Replace X with the drive letter of the partition being tested.

To be certain, run it on the 40GB drive as well.

Hmm.. I ran SpinRite (better thqan Chkdsk) on the 80Gb being Imaged. Spose I could do it on the 40Gb...will try it, thank you.
