First-Time Use to Restore A Drive
I've been using True Image for many years, but have never had to restore an image. I always wondered if it really worked as advertised. I'm using build 6673 to burn images of my six partitions on two internal hard drives in rotation, one each day, to two external hard drives.
Yesterday's boot-up of my Windows 8.1 desktop brought me the dreaded "Preparing automatic repair" message followed by the loop of many restarts leading to nothing but a repeat of that message. I ran a restore of my Windows 8.1 partition using the True Image 2014 boot disk I had made and 45 minutes later, my machine was up and running again just like nothing had happened. I now know that True Image does indeed save the day!
The day before this happened, I purchased the upgrade to True Image 2015 and installed it before reading what is no longer included. I liked the interface and burned one image of a data drive. Since restoring my C:\ drive, that 2015 installation is no longer on the computer and I think I'll leave it off and stick with my dependable, and now verified reliable, True Image 2014!
