Fixing recursive Fault in Acronis 2014

Thread needs solution

I have not found anywhere where someone has solved the issue of "fixing recursive Fault" on Acronis Boot medida. I have a HP pavilion dv9308nr running VISTA. The message "fixing recursive fault" just hangs there and doesn't seem to be fixing anything. I am ready to give up with Acronis. I have the OEM 2014 version which came with a Crucial SSD, so I cannot get any tech support; however, this issue does come up even in previous version, so it apparently has not been fixed. I was hoping to save my system and recovery partition, as HP only gives you one shot at recovery. The recovery DVD got lost somewhere. Any help or insight in appreciated. I tried to make a recovery DVD within Windows VISTA using Acronis but this doesn't seem to work. I am unable to get the DVD to boot. Thank you

As an alternative, you can purchase for about $15 directly from a Microsoft store, over the phone, a re-install disk for your Vista OS. Be sure to match the type on the label on the computer, Pro, Home Edition, whatever. If Vista came both in 32 and 64 bits, they send both disks. During or after install, you'll have to enter the license number on the Microsoft label for validation. After I got a brand new Lenovo, I erased the hard-drive, getting rid of all the bloatware that comes with new machines, and installed Windows 7 using a re-install disk that I purchased. You will have to download and install any missing drivers, which can be a little tricky, if you're not familiar with the procedure. With Win 7 I was only missing 1-2. There are probably Vista re-install disks available on Ebay also, although I preferred dealing directly with Microsoft. And if you are going to use an SSD as your C drive that already has data on it, it might be a good idea to do a secure erase (NOT A FULL FORMAT) before OS install. Crucial tech support is very good and can advise you about that.
Good luck.

Thank you for your comments. I guess I just don't understand this Acronis software and why it doesn't work. There must be some software that actually works. I would like to retain all the software and the recovery partition. I know Windows 7 will install easily on this laptop as well but I don't want to do that.
